Book Review...Think Better

Just finished what I believe is one of the best creative thinking books on the market today.  Think Better, by Tim Hurson, is a veritable treasure-trove of effective creative problem solving using his Productive Thinking Method and numerous other easy to understand and use (that's key) models, tools and techniques.

He lists a number of approaches on the book's jacket, so I think it is safe to list the key model here as well:

The Productive Thinking Model:
  1. What's Going On?
  2. What's Success?
  3. What's The Question?
  4. Generate Answers
  5. Forge the Solution
  6. Align Resources
He also generates great mnemonic devices such as:  DRIVE, AIM, C5, POWER and EFFECT to help the reader through the key phases of creative thinking, idea generation and idea action.

As all great business books provide, the models, tools, techniques and devices are explained with detail and real-world examples that make the learning easy and the "stickiness" solid.

If you need help in getting your team to think productively, or you need some help demonstrating the differences between incremental improvement (reproductive thinking) and new, imaginative products/services (productive thinking), this book is a must!
