And So It Begins...

As previously noted here and on Business Week, the phenomenon of buying or otherwise acquiring innovation from others is underway:

We'll see how this plays out.  Remember, getting ideas is the easy part.  Innovating, or putting ideas into action, is the hard part.  Just because you buy a process or tool or idea doesn't mean you are going to be successful. 

To increase the odds of success, or acheiving payback on your acquisition, you'll need to focus your organization's enthusiasm around leveraging what you bought and ensure that a full and complete knowledge transfer takes place from the original organization/person.
